Residency Requirements
Tarleton's Stephenville campus supports a live-on requirement of two years for first-time in college students (FTICs) and transfer students with less than 12 credit hours. FTICs are often incoming freshmen or students with AP or dual credit. Transfer students with more than 12 credit hours are required to live on campus for one year.

Campus Housing
At Tarleton, we offer a variety of beautiful and modern campus housing options , highlighted by Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) designed to help you succeed. With a mix of traditional college halls, two- and four-bedroom suites, and one- to four-bedroom college apartments, our LLCs are supportive, on-campus housing options for students with a common academic interest, purpose and experience.
- Meta-Major LLCs for students with similar majors or career paths live together in a supportive community while engaging in learning experiences both in and outside the classroom to develop marketable skills and build connections between academic preparation and future career fields.
- Texan Corps of Cadets have an exclusive opportunity to complete a minor in Leadership Studies.
- Select LLCs are available for Transfer Students, such as Honors Hall, Texan Corps of Cadets and several interest based LLCs.
If you’re interested in joining an LLC, you can indicate your preference in your Housing Application or Contract.
What Is Residence Life?
Residence Life meets the academic, social and personal needs of students living in campus housing while instilling values of learning, citizenship and diversity through peer, faculty and staff engagement. Our team facilitates meaningful conversations and hosts residence hall activities and campus recruiting events throughout the year. These include campus preview days, Admitted Student Day, Campus Tours, and Upward Bound. Leveraging technology to increase efficiency and provide exemplary service, we help first-time in college and transfer students who attend a campus preview day apply for campus housing, submit their application fee and select their room assignment. On these specialty days, admitted students are able to walk away with a room assignment.
Our professional staff of Residence Hall Directors and student Residential Leaders, as well as student Residence Hall Association Members, live in campus housing and serve as valuable resources on college life. Working in Residence Life provides anyone interested in pursuing a career in higher education with a rich experience full of real-world opportunities.

Choose from a variety of housing options
Most of our residence halls, suites and apartments have been newly built or recently renovated and are full of modern amenities, furnishings and appliances. On-campus college housing features Centennial Hall, Integrity Hall, Hunewell and Annex Hall, Heritage Hall, Legacy Hall, Legends Hall, Texan Village Apartments, Traditions North and South Halls, Venture Apartments and Honors Hall. Centennial, Heritage, Honors, Hunewell, Annex, Legacy and Legends Halls primarily house new, incoming students, and first-time students are guaranteed a space on campus.
Join our team to help connect other students to community
Students living on campus can join the Residence Hall Association, an organization that encourages student engagement and provides opportunities for new students to gain leadership and residential programming skills. Residence Hall Association facilitates several key campus events, including Color Celebration during Transition Week, Launching of the Ducks and Lighting of the Campus. You can also apply to be a Residential Leader for your peers. Our Residential Leaders receive a full scholarship for room and board while gaining extensive leadership skills and professional development opportunities. Residential Leaders and Residence Hall Directors receive training and development in incident response, conflict resolution and student support.
What educational and social programming will you be exposed to as a resident of campus housing?
Residence Life facilitates a rich, meaningful program curriculum for students living on campus in a Living-Learning Community. Campus programming includes discussion forums and conversations, enrollment in a first year experience course, residence hall activities, passive programs and university events. First-year students experience a different residential program curriculum than second-year and above students.

Move-in Day
Residence Life helps make your transition to college smooth — and fun! We take the guesswork and stress out of moving in with a variety of resources and information, from a detailed Move-in Guide to campus resources and services, such as Dining Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Resident Satisfaction
On the most recent Skyfactor Resident Feedback Survey, respondents rated their satisfaction level with hall and apartment staff at 89%. The survey indicated that Residence Life hall and apartment staff excel especially at availability, treating everyone fairly, making efforts to get to know residents and enforcing rules and regulations.
Priority Deadline
Apply for housing before January 15 for an early housing assignment. Admitted students can select their room as early as October of the year prior to enrollment. Although not guaranteed, early applicants have many more college housing options to choose from and a higher likelihood of getting the room and roommate you request.

Living Learning
Tarleton's Living Learning Communities allow you to build friendships and support your academic pursuits. Living-Learning Community assignments take priority over roommate preferences.
